Zhora, D'Joan, and Carmen Dog - Remember... and Smile

Zhora. "American Wolfhound." Those of you who frequented readsf.com undoubtably met Zhora: official greeter and wonderhound. Zhora lost her five month battle with cancer on Monday, 10 February 1997. She enriched our lives with her gentle spirit and mischievous sense of humor. We miss her terribly.

D'Joan. "American Beagle-Hound." Sweet-tempered and wise, D'Joan was not destined to outlive her "sister" by many months. At 14, she suffered two strokes within one week and, on Saturday, 22 November 1997, she finally ran out of bounces. D'Joan was a treasure too quickly used up. She will never be forgotten; she can never be replaced.

.....

Carmen Dog. "Red, Freckle-Faced Warbler." A natural-born aristocrat, Carmen came to us in mid-life. Her silky red coat and gentle disposition made her a long-standing favorite with all our visitors and friends. Carmen's battle with crippling arthrytis ended 12 November 2001, but we will never forget her beauty or the joy she brought us with her wonderful smile.
